Shakopee Game

I forgot to tell you about the Shakopee game. It will be remembered as the greatest game the Woodbury 6B team played in State Tournament. It goes like this:

It was a sad, mournful day for the team. Down by 9 at the end of the first half. The players walked to the bench with their heads hanging... The coach tried to encourage them but it didn't have much effect. "It's only halftime!" Their heads hung even lower. "Look, it doesn't matter what the score is at the end of the game, it just matters how hard you play." Cheers from the Woodbury fans came loud and clear. They stopped feeling sorry for themselves and went onto the court ready to play. The Woodbury guard went in and made a lay-up. They came back with one right back at us. But then, their star player, Caleb Blodgett shot a three and "SWISH!" Woodbury stole the ball back passed it over to Blodgett and "Swish!" Another one! Shakopee comes in with a lay-up. But they had a advantage, Blodgett! Passed it back and YES it goes in yet again! That was it for Blodgett! The time was running out in the 4th quarter with about 3 minutes left. Nicholas Blonski, the big guy, goes in for a lay-up, gets fouled. Ooohhh... this is not going to go well. One of the worst free-throw shooters on the team. We all turned our heads as the big guy threw his shot up, we heard a "swish!" Of course it must be from the court next to us we thought. But no, it was from the one, the only Nicholas Blonski! He put up another one, "SWISH!" Woodbury was up by two! Cheers and "Whoo-hoo's!" came from the sidelines. Shakopee ran down the court hoping for a basket, they pass it to the big guy. The guy throws up the shot and sure enough it goes in. But that wasn't it for Woodbury, for they still have a few tricks up their sleeves. Coach calls time. He shows them the play on his whiteboard. They go out onto the court with high confidence. Woodbury inbounds the ball with 20 seconds left, they pass it to the guard and he holds the ball until about 10 seconds left. Then he drives around the guy whom is guarding him and goes in for a lay-up while the time runs out! Woodbury wins! What an amazing comeback!

That's the story of the Woodbury B team.

Have a great day! :)

PS notice how I play a key role in the story? =D

Congratulations from all of us in Atlanta! Good luck in your next games!

(BTW: A simple Google search on "Champlin Park 6A" has your blog as the third hit. I guess that's one possible way your new fan found you. We know it's not from advertising on the Blodgspot--they doesn't even have a link to you, unlike The Old Man!)
